Denny's serves a menu of diner classics including all day breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches and more.
Why??? Lots of food, got filled up and really tasty. The server is really great, goot excellent service from her(the older Filipina woman), she got a 30 percent gip from me. Great stuff. The value is good for the food i got, filled me up for the whole day. Ambience, well solid for a Denny's. Very highly recomended.
2 of us went for lunch on my birthday. I asked about the free entree and was told as long as there was another entree and 2 drinks ordered I could have any entree on the menu. Well T-bone steak and eggs it was. Absolutely great service by a waitress you felt liked her job and knew you were the customer. Ambiance wise it fit the mold. Windows and sills were clean. Restroom was spotless. The owner or manager has shown some pride in this establishment and it shows. I usually eat across the street at the On On where I don't think the windows have ever been washed.
This sunny Saturday morning my husband & I were in the Metrotown area and decided to go for breakfast at this Denny's location.
We arrived around 9:30. We stepped into the restaurant to see it buzzing with customers. A few people seemed to be waiting to be seated. I thought we would have a bit of a wait before our turn, but a server promptly took us to a clean, vacant table.
The menus offered ample meal choices. When I read 'avocados' and 'peppers' (favorite ingredients of mine) listed for the "Ultimate Benny", I knew what I wanted. I was also happy to see that I could choose between a full order and a half order. My husband enjoyed "The Meat Lover's Trio". It could not have taken more than 7 minutes for another server to bring our meals.
While we ate we noticed an attentive waiter's assistant gently moving throughout the restaurant, promptly removing dirty dishes. Once we emptied our plates, he came to our table and politey took them away.
I used the washroom to wash my hands and found it supplied and clean.
We have been to this location before and today's visit confirms why we keep coming back.
I hadn't eaten all day and decided to end the night on a greasy note so I dragged my also hungry gf with me and we were promptly seated with sparse customers scattered about. They had a different late night menu with far fewer choices, but still something for most people. The gf's slamwich is a combination breakfast in sandwich form: eggs, sausage, ham, bacon and cheese nestled between two pieces of buttered toast, with a shmear of mayo and syrup to finish you off. Good, yet almost disgustingly greasy with the bread soaked to the gills with butter that you could ring out like a wet towel. My country fried steak hit my hankering for batter-lathered choice cut meat quite well, though a little more oily than I would've liked. The refillable soda was welcoming; the only thing that would cut through the grease.
Our server was friendly but disappeared for long stretches at a time, with our empty glasses waiting for refills and my empty plate sitting, but reappeared to wait on the occupied tables, seemingly to combine trips to the tables in one swoop rather than to make seperate visits.
Near identical layout to the other locations, complete with the shady characters that loiter in and around the restaurant. It's pretty clean though I would hesitate to bring your better half here unless you're comfortable with the sometimes wierdo crowd.
I wanted something greasy and Denny's delivered as expected.
