Amazing Meal!

I recently went to this restaurant with my boyfriend and we shared the etc. platter. It was essentially a plate of six meats beautifully made, and I pretty much died and went to heaven. The pulled pork is crazy good, as is the beef brisket, ribs, chicken wings, and BBQ chicken. Can't wait to go back :)

if you want burgers...this is the best of burnaby. Actually, I usually get the brisket which is tender and smothered in the delicious sauce. Add a couple of sides of baked beans, potato salad or coleslaw and you have the feel of a summertime barbecue! A big screen TV usually has the Canucks or some other sporting event on. Lunch and dinner can be busy, but I would say bring a paper and wait it out....its worth it!

Very good burger

I only had the regular burger without the extras and a coleslaw. The patty-bun ratio was perfect... the beef patty and the fixings were very very fresh. I love how they grill their buns so it's slightly toasty. Will definitely go back for lunch or maybe dinner and try the rest of things on the menu. Good value for the $8.50 burger!

I trashed this place a while back but I thought I'd give them another try.. I love BBQ and this place is so close to home.. Had the sampler again.. Ribs and Pulled pork.. Pulled pork was good, overly sweet sauce but Added some Vinegar and it was much better.. I'm not a huge lover of pulled pork, but this was as good as I've had elsewhere.. Ribs were good.. Tender this time so I suppose they were having an off day before.. The sauce works much better with the ribs, mostly because they finish the ribs on the grill.. caramalizes the sugar and makes it nice and pleasant.. Not at all traditional Que, but damn tasty.. Dissapointed with the Size though two ribs wasn't enough.. Sides were terrible but I don't go for sides.. Beans sucked and Potato Salad was flavorless.. having said that I like Heinz Baked beans and KFC potato salad so I'm far from a gourmand when it comes to those.. I stand by what I said about the Brisket before.. It IS beef dip meat.. infact they have a beef dip sandwich that has the same meat on it just without BBQ sauce.. I'm a brisket lover so Memphis Blues is the only place in town if you want brisket.. however if you aren't a BBQ purest or you think Montana's/Tony Roma's makes good ribs you won't be dissapointed in this place.. And I will be back.. For the Ribs..

Forget the burger, go for the barbecue!

I've now been to this restaurant 6 or 7 times. At first, I would say that I was only just satisfied with the food, but now that I've discovered what's the best on the menu, I'm a definite fan and will definitely be going back often.

The first time I went here, I had the burger. According to some poll, the burger had been rated number 1 in the Vancouver area. I tried it and found the burger fresh and pleasant, but, quite frankly, a bit bland. The next trip, I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was very good and definitely had more zing than the burger, but still nothing to stop traffic. On my fourth visit, I tried the barbecue platter where you could choose 2 meats and two sides.

Now that had zing! The barbecue chicken, the ribs, and the pulled pork are all excellent. The sides are good too. The fries plain fries are great. Some people seem to love the special fries with beans, cheese, and bbq sauce, but they're not for me. One noteworthy thing is also the green salad-whether you get it as a side or as a dish on it's own, it's a good size and contains a nice variety of salad fixings (ie. it's not iceburg lettuce with a bit of carrot.)

So, give the burger a pass and head for straight for the bbq!

The menu is quite spectacular for a burger place. These are closer to your gourmet burgers so they are more expansive than fast food options. The quality is much fresher of course. A good place to have a better burger.

Fair but over-rated

Ate at this place on Friday night and thought it was just medicore - it's not bad (except that my burger was under-cooked!!!! yes - pink meat!), but definitely not one ofthe better burgers in town! For those, try Hamburger Mary's, Vera's, Burger Heaven.
The staff was kind of nice so I don't wabt to say anything mean about this place, it's just that it really isn't anything special, so check it out if you want, but don't expect it to be the as good as proclaimed (not "the best burger" intown)

Very good burgers, but not great

Based on the good food ratings (4s and 5s), we tried the burgers here one night before watching the crows fly into Burnaby for the night.

The place is your basic "mom & pop" shop, nothing fancy but clean. The only a/c was a small portable unit, so it was a bit hot on the night we were there.

We both had the hamburger with cheese. The burgers had very good flavour, but they were just a tad dry. Perhaps because most/all burger joints are thoroughly cooking burgers these days to avoid any health issues. We've had the same thing at Vera's.

While the burgers were very good, we didn't feel that they were any better than Vera's, and neither is as good as the cheese burgers we've had at Stella's on Commercial. Go figure.

The french fries were most excellent, as was their cole slaw.

We'll definitely go back to try their BBQ, even though we live just two blocks from Memphis Blues on Broadway. :-)

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood.

I had their signature beef burger that won "Best burger in BC". i must say, it was very delicious. so delicious, in fact, that i am going there again today.

the fries were incredible too. soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. they tasted very "fresh". also tried the potato salad, which was very flavorful.

not much can be said about the ambiance, but hey, it's a burger joint. you don't go there for the atmosphere

I saw an ad for this place in our local newspaper, the Burnaby Now, about their burger eating contest for charity, so I thought I'd stop in as I live in the neighbourhood. I never knew that they were even there! I guess I never have reason to go west of Gilmore (until now). To my surprise, they've been there for almost 3 years now. The place smelled sooooo yummy when we walked in.

Their name describes it all - Burgers Etc. The "Etc." being their BBQ. While I was deciding what to order, I saw all the different plates of food go out to the other tables and it all looked good. The burgers are humungus! They had all types of meat - brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs, sausage, wings ... I couldn't decide. Apparently, they are best known for their burgers, so I went with that and my 3 friends went with the beef dip, the chicken burger and the brisket sandwich. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich to round out the taste-testing frenzy.

If you can believe it, there wasn't one clear winner. Everybody had their own favorite (mine being the beef dip - I wish I had ordered one for myself! - next time). We all agreed that the burger and pulled pork were on the top of the list though.

As for others that diss this place and compare it to other BBQ restaurants - stop being such haters. These people make great food, and if they don't make it EXACTLY like the others - good for them - they`re not following the rest. Obviously, they`re doing their own thing and it`s working for them. Keep it up Burgers Etc., I like everything that you serve. We`ll all be back again (and again!)

Outweighs the likes of Veras (sloppy), Hamburger Mary's (jack of all trades, master of none) and Moderne Burger (spendy).

The BBQ options really set it apart from the rest. Pulled pork sandwich is on par with what you'd get at Memphis Blues, while the beef dip might be the best bang-for-your-buck going.

They've done a nice job of turning an otherwise tiny, uncomfortable space into something decent; good place to watch a game (caught the Canucks-Stars a while back) and they're starting to get a better variety of beer in there, which is always key.

After visiting several Burger establishments (excluding the big fast food chains) in the Vancouver region, I have to say that Burgers Etc., is one of my top choices. The menu is limited but that's good. I always visit a restaurant on two separate occasions to insure my experience is not a fluke. On both occasions, Burgers Etc delivered a tasty hamburger. Jules from Pulp Fiction would be proud. Oh and the fries were great too! Thanks Burgers Etc. See you soon!
