Boston Pizza offers a casual dining atmosphere with over 100 menu items including a selection of pizzas, pastas and a wide variety of appetizers, meal-sized salads, entrees and desserts. The restaurant also has plenty of big screen TVs to catch the big game.
Took a friend of mine here for her birthday. We had a great time, the service was great. I had a double cheeseburger with fries, she had a chicken salad, and we both shared a double order of wings. I must say that the double burger was HUGE, but it didn't taste good like it does at most other restuarants....the chipotle mayo there was a joke and a half. We did enjoy the wings very much. Last time I went to a Boston Pizza I had thier tasteless fettucini alfredo, but at least the burger had flavour (even though it wasn't good)
So I guess I will stick to thier appetizers.
We always drop by to Boston Pizza after playing volleyball. This time it will be the last time.
This is the Boston Pizza at Metrotown area, Kingsway. Stupid of me, I didn’t keep the receipt or remember her name.
We arrived at 11:00pm looking a place to eat and drink and celebrate my hubby birthday – June 27, 2011 Tuesday. We were seated for 7 people. There are more friends arriving later.
Our server was nice and welcoming. It’s was time to order drinks. We asked her what the special is for the day. She told us the special is the corona, 5.25 for a bucket. It’s just today thing. I saw the sign inside; it said Corona 5/24. But I guess we all saw it, so we each asked her again. It’s $5.25 for a buck? She replied, yes, it’s $5.25 a bucket. After more question about the price and more puzzle look, she went on to clarify that it’s $5.25 per bucket and that’s about “$1.05 each”. We still wonder why it’s so cheap and at that price, we could only get it in Mexico. She said the staffs were Mexican and that’s why. She’s our server, and that’s the price. We asked to clarify, not once, not twice, not third, fourth or fifth. We didn’t think our server would lie to us. We fell for it.
We started ordering the bucket. In total, we order 4 buckets.
It’s my hubby birthday, so I asked if they have something. She gave us a chocolate square with ice cream. Everything was going well. Food was great and Service was great.
When it’s time for the bill, she asked us how we want to split the buckets. We all thought it would be so cheap. There was a little battle going on who will pay for the beer. She told us the amount, we were shock.
We asked her why it’s so much and it was supposed to be $5.25 a bucket. She pretended she didn’t know what we were talking about. We told her that SHE TOLD us it was $1.05 each. She has the nerve to say we heard wrong and laugh it off. If it’s one person, yes, but ALL 7 of us. Our friends didn’t want to make a scene since it’s my hubby’s birthday. We all paid and left a small tip ~10%. I’m furious.
She was deceitful and lied to her customers. She lied and we let her get away by not complaining. I regret that.
Servers are supposed to represent the restaurant. She supposed to let us know what the special is and be truthful about it. Who would have though the saying “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is” applied to Boston Pizza
The food is consistent with the other branches and is definitely worth a try if you have never eaten here before. The service is alright, nothing for me to complain about. The value is average, nothing particular. However, I do enjoy the scenery. The multiple televisions around to keep up with the hockey games and the colourful walls of jerseys and sports. This is a good place to eat if you are wanting to watch the game while eating.
Came here last week after the pub with some friends, I think there were 6 of us. It was about 12:30am or 1am. I ordered the individual pepperoni pizza, it was pretty good, I was quite surprised actually. I don't normally go to "fast food" type places. The server was pleasant and overall it was pretty solid.
The only time I've ever gone here is when the Red Robin next to it (or other restaurants nearby) were too busy. You can almost always count on never having to wait to get into BP. Which speaks volumes about the place.
The food is the worst part for me. Some people seem to like their pizza, personally, I don't like it, and it seems quite expensive.
The pasta is pathetic. Some of the sandwiches, fries, and other appetizers are passable. Really without good food there isn't much reason to go to a restaurant.
Service is decent enough most of the time.
Really the best thing I can think of is they at least have refillable pop, and they are open pretty late so if everything else is closed you have this option.
We have been going to this Boston Pizza for years, and we love it. They have the best pepperoni in town, and the new whole wheat crust is incredible. The staff are great, and always remember us when we come in, and the owners are super. Definitely our favorite Metrotown area restaurant. I really like the bar side, it's cozy but fun.
Went there for dinner Saturday night thinking we'd enjoy a quick dinner before the hockey game. What a mistake! The service was ok, we were seated promptly and the server came by quickly to get our drink order. However, the food was not at all worth the money. I had wanted to try the pasta, but at $15 it was totally not worth it. The build your own pasta choices were so limited, I might as well make it at home. I ended up ordering the stromboli, my husband the 'boston' cheesesteak. The stromboli was overcooked and dry. The caesar salad that came with it was drenched in dressing. The cheesesteak was so lacking in veggies that it looked more like a dry beef dip. Cannot understand why anyone wants to eat at this place. Will never go back.
There must be a reason why Red Robin's just 10 steps away is much more popular than the Boston Pizza at Metro and now I think I know why.
Food: Compared to the Richmond (No.3 & Akroyd?) location, the food is not very good. The cactus cut potatoes were decent at best, all dip. We shared the Beef Dip and Smokey Mountain Spaghetti. The portions were huge but the quality was seriously lacking. The beef in the Beef Dip was so tough that we practically had to rip it apart with our hands rather than bite it. The spaghetti was way beyond al dente, it was practically soggy.
Service: It was pretty much empty and there was a cashier(?) and a waitress working, they were just busy talking to each other. I had to ask for refills and flag them down to order. Not cool when there's only like 2 tables in the restaurant.
Ambiance: Once again there was nobody around us and oddly enough they had no music and only 1 of 3 TV's were on so .. felt completely dead in there. Awkwardly quiet and we could hear pretty much the entire conversation between the 2 staff and the occassional clank of pots/dishes in the kitchen.
Sorry but with Red Robin's bustling about a minute away and many other restaurants nearby (Cactus Club, Sammy J, TGIF, Daimasu, Taisho) I don't think I would come back here even if I was hungry and in the area.
I have been to this Boston Pizza at Metrotown several times and each time i have been disappointed with the food. Why do i keep going back? Because some friends like going there, it's open late, they serve booze until 2 am. No wonder the place is always full of drunks stumbling in from a night of drinking. No complaints there. The service was quite relaxed. The food is gawdawful. I stay away from the pizza and pasta. They are extremly cheap with the toppings on pizza and the pasta has no flavour. So i order chicken strips, can't go wrong there i'm thinking. Who could screw up chicken strips. WRONG! Chicken strips were made fresh, but they were dry. The best thing about the Boston Pizza dining experience was the drinks. Get really really drunk and maybe you won't notice how bad their food is. Oh the water was really good, 10/10 on that one! -3/10 on the food. Try your luck at McD's instead.
I used to work int he Metrotown mall. I'd always go to this place because it was open late night. I like it. Decent food (they cook their nachos in the oven instead of the microwave like alot of Boston Pizzas), not the best in the world but what do you want at 2am? Manager of the place even did a magic trick for us one time. Awesome.
This was a Saturday 12:30~1:00, and BP seemed pretty much deserted. The hostess maybe seated us in the section with less people, but compared to Red Robin's next door, BP was lacking in customers. I usually don't like noisy places, but seat me where there are other people!!
I thought the service was mediocre considering how few people there were. They weren't terrible, but not particulary attentive.
I ordered the homestyle lasagna, and someone else ordered the chicken ciabatta sandwich - both very good and filling! The garlic toast that came with my meal was cold though. The meals did take a while, probably the lasagna took longer, but at least they came out at the same time. I'd definitely come back for the lasagna again.
Food: I've ordered the Boston Lasagna with the Garlic Bread. It's very expensive with just one order. The pasta comes with garlic bread and they charge you five dollars! I'd rather have lasagna at home. I've never had their pizza.
Service: I don't really know what their service is like since I get someone to pick my food for me.
Value: TOO expensive! They charge you five dollars to order a lasagna! I don't recommend this restaurant if you want to save up your money.
Ambiance: Don't really know.
We went there for a quick lunch. I had pizza, my wife had "spaghetti". Note the quotes. The lump of overcooked pasta has nothing to do with spaghetti. This was really bizarre, because it actually takes an effort to overcook pasta that bad. Pizza was more or less OK, but I would not order it again if I could go for example for Pizza Hut or Dominos. Perhaps our experience was specific to this particular location, but I found the food to be overpriced, so I would not recommend this place to anyone.
boston pizza is always a default lunch/dinner location whenever i'm in the metrotown area and just want to eat in the area. i always order the seafood curry pasta (without onions) and it's good every single time. The prices are average, service is always very prompt and friendly. Overall nothing particularly outrageous about anything. It's pretty quiet everytime i'm there so i'd rather come here for a quiet lunch than red robin's where it's always kind of chaotic.
we went there some day to try as we need to wait for our friends. any ways, pizza just pizza, not so much to write, but we have to make it over 300 character. the price is little bit over price on this quality, so so. we hope they can control their expense and cost, then they could make a cheaper pizza, not on our customers.
