This place obviously caters towards students. For anybody with a limited income, this is probably the best place on campus to get some cheap eats. Nothing on campus can compete with Bamboo Garden given the amount of food you get, the variety of different dishes and the food is pretty decent as well. Bamboo Garden is just a better value overall than the other places. Nothing is absolutely outstanding Chinese food but it is definitely good for a fast food style kind of restaurant. Their chow mein is quite good, though sometimes it can be a little bit too dry. I highly recommend the bbq pork and their pork chops. Beef brisket is also really nice. Lots of people order their hot pots as well, though I've never personally tried it yet.
I think they have a full menu, but most people order from a select assortment of different dishes spread across a long table. As said before, value is quite good for the amount of food you get. A small is about $5.50 with chow mein instead of steamed rice and 2 toppings and there's enough food there for a decent lunch. Medium is about $7 if you're a big eater. Seriously, there is no other restaurant available at SFU that can compete with Bamboo Garden in terms of value and for a student, that is very important knowledge.
I like when steam starts coming out of my boss' ears and his face turns all red. This usually occurs when he eats really spicy food. Maybe I am sadist when I laugh at people in pain. What if I am, sue me. That being said the food was good too. The house fried rice was pure genius
