Serving fabulous Italian coffee, paninis, European baked goods and the best part is Christmas flavours of gelato particularly the Mozart flavour!
Not worth the price, worrisome quality. Went with some out of town visitors. Not wanting to drive into Vancouver or go to Metrotown on a sunny Saturday afternoon, we thought we would give this little shop at Highgate Village a try. Nice European lady, quick service - however, the gelato was not fresh tasting. How would I know the difference between fresh and not fresh? Guess we have been spoiled with the fast turnover of product in the busier shops (not to mention adherence to higher standards of quality and storage?). The Almond Gelato tasted like something that had been left uncovered in the refrigerator - or freezer burnt ice cream - and the flavour was very sweet and artificial . The Chocolate Gelato was not smooth - there were rubbery bits..... the hard edges from the sides of the container being stirred back in maybe? ...too scared to give this place a second chance.
This is my daily workday treat; great Italian coffee and a wonderful Italian pastry ( the canollis are amazing)
this time of year there are specialty gelatos; the Mozart flavour is the best! The service is super friendly; the cafe is sparkling clean. At lunch time I can get a huge panini or sandwich for a healthy lunch.
