Relaxing lunch
By Rex of Burnaby (9 Reviews)

After a long meeting, four of us didn't need to come back to the office. we decide to have a relaxing lunch. What things better than a cold beer?
We went to there ordered some food and beer. We sit at a big booth watching a soccer game.
The steak was pretty good that the chef didn't over cook it. Side dishes were tastly as well but I think the most important element was drinking beer and wine while you eating. The environment was nice and services was not bad. They mention live music available at dinner time too. We agreed to come back again when we get another long meeting in the future.

Amazing place for entertainment

I personally, like to go there and have a drink while having dinner and enjoy the live music, I don’t like to drive all the way to down town after I had a drink. I enjoy the live music and the whole ambiance; I really like the decoration and the way it has been well taken care of. I heard that about two years ago the owners have changed and since then, I noticed the quality of food, entertainment and service amazingly reached to a higher and better standard. I like to go there to hang out with my friends and family and I would recommend it to others. I love their mini burgers.

Awkward Visit

Your review is hilarious Sindee. I went there for the first (and last...but for no reason other than I have been trying other places) about 3 months ago and had the exact same experience. The service was SUPER SLOW, we didn't eat so I cannot comment on the food - 5 because unknown is not allowed and I didn't want to bring down their rating - but the servers were in a major war. I went to pay my bill and the one server went so far as to dump her frustration with one waitress on to me...cursing as she is talking I would like to add...and then said "you better not tip her" angrily. On a positive side the inside is very nice and the live music was amazing.

Had med expectations

When we walked in we were greated by a pretty angry server who yelled at another server (right at our table) to come take care of us- they bickered on the floor all night. The drinks took a really time to get to the table but the food was served surprisingly fast. If your not looking to eat great pub food then sit an eat, but its nothing special. We went on a night where the pastas were 1/2 off, which was really the only thing decent on the menu. The esthetic appeal off the place was surpisingly nice. and well taken care of. Too bad the servers didnt match the look of the place. If you dont mind getting crappy service then go for it, otherwise anywhere else would be better

Better service when it was NBI

I ordered edamame and tea. It took 30 minutes. We waited for the bill for 10 minutes and ended up going up to the bar to pay.

The interior was nice. It can accommodate large groups at the last minute.

The adjacent Liquor Barn prices are marked up so you may want to go to a regular liquor store. The wines at Kensington Wine store in Kensington Mall are priced properly.

Yummy Pub Food and Great Specials

Considering this place used to be a seedy strip bar, it's pretty freaking nice. Large (2 sections), lots of booths for 2, a pool room and dark wood paneling. Of course, let's not forget that there are TV's everywhere you look. They always seem to have the place fully staffed. Quick pleasant service. And everyday has a different drink and food special. Thursdays are half price pasta dish night, which is just awesome. It's pub food, but better.
