I went to Lou's Grill with a friend for dinner on a Friday night, we were greeted right away and seated inside as the patio was full. It was very busy as usual but our server brought us drinks right away and was very pleasant. I had a nice white wine that she recommended while my friend had a beer. We ordered burgers, mine was the veggie burger and his was chicken, both were delicious !! I really liked the décor of the restaurant, and the lighting was perfect. Overall it was good food, drinks and service, definitely recommend it :)
I took my daughter to Yummy Sushi Gallery---on Gladwin in Abbotsford---for her birthday lunch on Aug 3, 2014. What followed was straight from a horror movie!
My daughter ordered appetizer tempura and a chicken teriyaki roll. I ordered a number 133. It was all good, except for the fact that my daughter “Lori” told me that she thought the waitress may have gotten her order wrong (she had repeated it back to us as she headed over to the kitchen). I called the waitress over to confirm Lori’s order. She said, “Tempura and chicken teriyaki.” We both nodded. Tempura and a chicken teriyaki roll. Correct.
Then came my daughter’s food. She got her tempura and chicken teriyaki roll. It looked fine; she began to eat. A couple minutes later, my food arrived. Oops……..it was not what I had ordered. I had ordered number 133, which was a type of roll. The waitress had gone back to the front counter, so I politely called her over again and explained that I had not gotten the correct order.
This is where things got awful. Terribly awful. The waitress began to look at me as if I were a piece of garbage. She continued to look at me for the next several long minutes as I repeated that I had ordered number 133, a type of roll. I did not order chicken teriyaki, which is what I had received. I remained polite and smiling. Mistakes like this happen often, I was sure. It was just a matter of taking the wrong meal away and bringing me the correct one.
I went on to say that I would gladly pay for what Lori received but I would not pay for “mine”. Lori had eaten all she wanted to by this time and I was not hungry any longer. The waitress continued to stare at me as if I were the devil. She then went to the kitchen. She returned shortly and said to me, “Yes, you can pay for the one meal but the manager says that you are not allowed to come back to this restaurant .”
I could not believe my ears. I was not allowed there ever again because they had messed up my order (for whatever reason)?? Never in all my life have I been treated in such a shoddy manner; I was stung to my core. I got up and went to the counter where I saw a woman who was working on preparing rolls and the like. Trying my utmost to remain calm, asked her if she was the one who had forbidden me to return. She didn’t say anything, so I knew she was the one. Incensed and hurt, I became loud but remained in control as I began to speak. I repeated that I did not order what I had received. Lori told me later that she heard the woman say, “You ordered your food and when it came to your table you said you didn’t want it.” Just before she said this, I heard someone say, “We confirmed your order with you TWICE.” I don’t recall who said this; it could have been the woman behind the counter or the waitress.
I said often, loudly, “Are you KIDDING me???” regarding being told never to come back. The woman soon said that she could not understand English and I said, “Oh, yes you can!” I was visibly shaken, close to tears. My diatribe went on for a couple of long minutes.
I then grabbed my things from where I had been sitting and left the premises. I believe it was the waitress who actually ran after me, outside the restaurant yelling, “YOU HAVE TO PAY YOUR BILL!!!” This was the final stab in the back. I did not look back; my daughter and I climbed into my car and we left.
Ninety-nine percent of restaurants would have gone out of their way to please ME, the customer. I would have gotten my correct order or the manager would give me a voucher of some sort………..either that or let me have everything on the house.
Yummy Sushi Gallery, you really failed me and my daughter. I am very, very disappointed.

The food a Lou’s grill is fantastic, their portions are very generous and worth every penny. Their staff is friendly, professional and welcoming; they do a great job at ensuring their customers are well taken care of. But the best part are their drinks; I recommend any woman to try the sangria or peach& mango margarita! The atmosphere is very fun and inviting. I would definitely recommend the Lou’s to anyone I know, and I will definitely be going back soon.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the food at Lou's Grill. Lou's has quality, unique food that far surpasses what your everyday franchise has to offer. I love the atmosphere, the friendly waitresses, cool music and funky art. I always have a good experience when I go to Lou's Grill. Will definetly be coming back to Lou's for some more holidays and date nights!!
Our tummies grumbling with hunger on this beautiful summer day, my friend and I decided we’d go to Lou’s Grill for dinner.
When we arrived it was busy, no surprise, on a sunny day around dinner time we didn’t expect it not to be. We walked through the back door to quickly be greeted by the hostess. We asked if we could sit outside and she told us she’d quickly clean the table off for us and to wait in the front and so we obligied. They were quick and we were sitting at our table in less than 5 minutes. We were quite dehydrated so we only ordered water with lemon to quench our thirst. By the time our server had returned with our water we had already decided what we wanted to eat, not that she took long it’s just we had already known what we wanted before we even sat down.
While we waited we chatted, listened to the music, took in our surroundings. The patio was lively with groups of customers and busy servers. We didn’t wait long until our food arrived. Usually when food arrives quickly on a busy day I feel a little skeptical that it was cooked properly or that it would look messy. But to my surprise the food looked delicious. I ordered the cajun chicken sandwich with no guacamole and added on pineapple, with a side of spuds. No mistakes in my food, everything was mouth-watering and delicious. The only problem I had was the sandwich was huge for my tiny mouth! I could barely take a proper bite – but I can’t complain, you really are getting what you’re paying for, which is great when some restaurants can rip you off with prices.
The only thing was the waitress didn’t do the two-bite rule. It took a while for the server to return to ask us if everything was alright with our food. Everytime I placed my glass to the side for water a waitress came by to refill it, which was perfect.
I would recommend maybe Lou’s Grill was to get wet wipes for after the customers are done with something like their sandwiches or burgers, as they do get messy when you use yours hands and almost leave a greasy feel you can’t just wipe away with a napkin.
When we were finished we got our leftovers packed up, asked for our bill, paid, and left Lou’s with a, “See you soon!”
I recently went to Lou's Grill for a catch up date with a friend. We had our kids with us, my son being just shy of a year and her very loud toddler.
I skipped on the drinks but was impressed with the large selection, so I ordered a caesar salad and yam fries and a Club sandwich to go for my husband. Even with a simple salad and yam fries I thoroughly enjoyed my food, as did my husband.
Though, we made our visit short due to screaming toddler, we had great professional service, with patience and an understanding attitude with the kids. Timing was perfect for the meal "to go", and the atmosphere was comfortable and more appealing to come back for a beverage and "older" company.
For my 24 birthday I decided to get a group of friends together and go to Lou's to celebrate! I have grown up in Abbotsford and Lou's has always been a go to place for me. The service was pretty much flawless no one was ever waiting for a drink or to order food, we actually had more people join than expected and the girls were able to accommodate us as we grew. The food was tasty, hot, and prompt and they had recently upgraded the menu so we got to try a couple new dishes. Lou's always plays good music and they are always busy! This was not my first birthday celebrated at Lou's and it probably won't be my last!!
Take a look. Al the reviewers for Lous Grill have only done 1 review. He must go up to strangers on the street and asked them to do reviews for a fee, after all his friends and relatives have done their reviews. Talk about loading up with fake reviews
We've eaten here and believe me it's nothing to get excited about.
The last time I visited Lou’s Bar and Grill was the weekend of this year’s past St Patty’s Day. I remember the staff all acting so lively and kind, even at midnight when I came in for a bite and a drink. I specifically recall ordering a pint of Stella Artois and was so thrilled to see it coloured green for the festivities! The best dish there I eat every time is the Jack Daniels BBQ bacon burger, and I don’t enjoy burgers anywhere else now that I’ve tried Lou’s. The place is friendly, comforting and the staff is always so helpful!
I heard about Lou’s through my uncle figured I’d give it a try with my friends. Being a student I thought it was a little pricy at first, until I got my appetizer. The meal portions are big enough for two people, giving great value for your money. They have a great atmosphere that seems suitable for family dinners and a night with friends. I really enjoyed the food and friendly service. I am looking forward to a return visit, definitely not disappointed.
I had a wonderful first time experience at Lou's. The atmosphere was up beat and the greeting hostess was very welcoming and pleasant. Our server was polite and personable and quick to take our drink orders. She accidentally knocked over my drink when she returned but she had the mess cleaned up in seconds and a replaced drink in my hand immediately. We ordered the Steak Sandwich and the Blackened Cajun Chicken Sandwich, both of which were absolutely delicious. Both meals came out very quickly and were delivered with a smile. Our server ensured that our meals met our expectations and that our drinks were always full. Great first experience at Lou's Grill with every intent on returning in the near future.
Every experience at Lou's is a great one! The food is always delicious, the service is always impeccable and the atmosphere is what always keeps me coming back! Lou's is the only restaurant where I can go and know I can have a good conversation with any of the employees and be satisfied when I leave. I recommend this restaurant to people who love great music, AWESOME food and genuine caring employees!!
We went one time to the Abbotsford Wings restaurant for a long drive and a dinner. It was marginally okay but nothing to write home about. Its about the same ratings as Red Robin, Boston Pizza and others that are lacking in portions while suck you for overrated costs. They all need to bring in better portions and lower their prices.
I have been going to the Cactus Club since it opened and its only getting better. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. Its by far my favorite restaurant anywhere around. The atmosphere is pub with a drinking lounge and a full restaurant. So if you just feel like going for a few drinks and appies or a full meal. This place has everything you need.
The prices are a bit on the high side but that's okay for what you get and the quality of food, I'm okay with that.
There is nothing I would change...keep up the great work! I recommend you to all who will listen.
My last experience at Lou's was very good. The food and drinks are always made exactly how I like them and the service is great too! Lou's is the only place I have found that offers pitcher's girls will like too rather than beer being the only option. I love that even in the winter if you want to be outside the patio is heated well enough that you are comfortable throughout the entire experience. The atmosphere at Lou's is perfect for one on one date nights, as well as going out with a group
Last night my mother, a friend of mine, and I went to Lou's Bar and Grill for dinner. I am happy to say we had an awesome experience filled with great food and awesome staff. Our server was friendly, polite and very helpful. It was Wednesday night so my mother and I decided to order Martini's however my mother has never actually tried a Martini. Upon receiving her drink my mother realized that she just really didn't like her drink. When we informed our waitress of our dilemma she was quick to help us find a solution my mother would enjoy. As it turns out my mothers just didn't enjoy the juice to alcohol ratio so the waitress had the bartender add more juice to the drink and my mother loved it. After we had been seated in our area for a couple minutes we realized that our table was right next to a door to the patio and because the waitress were constantly going in and out, it was a rather breezy spot. The next time our waitress walked by we asked her to find us a new spot and we were pleased at how helpful she was in finding a new spot that we were more comfortable in. She was great and very accommodating regarding our request. After we had our drinks and seating figured out, we ordered our food and we were very impressed on the quality of the food delivered. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious. My mother, friend and I had an amazing evening at Lou's Bar and Grill thanks to the amazing staff and awesome food, we will definitely be back!
We went on a thursday night while we were in town for a visit, and were seated quite quickly. The place had a classy but had a comfortable feel that you could go there after work with some friends or get dolled up for a night out with the girls. It was easy to see why this place is so popular.
The food was delicious, I had the cajun chicken fettuccini carbonara. the mix of vegetables and cream sauce was fantastic. My boyfriend had the Jack Daniels bbq burger with fries and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The food came out in good time and was hot and didn't seem like it was sitting waiting long. The food in my opinion was the best part of our experience.
The service was good but she wasn't exceptional. She was friendly, and had gotten us everything we asked for (including the crazy amounts of water we requested). The only part of our service that I would have liked to see different was the amount we were checked on. I like when the waitress is there shortly after your food arrives to make sure everything is correct and then a few more times even if the table is not drinking alcoholic beverages (as we weren't drinking that evening).
As an overall, I would recommend going to Lou's and checking it out for yourself, as the food was delicious and the girls seem friendly.
I do not get out much but when I do I choose to eat at Lou's Grill. On a busy friday night the service is still at it's best. I had to wait only 5 minutes for a table for 16 people to open. The servers were fast and very helpful with pulling tables together setting everything up etc. The food was amazing I usually stick to salads or fries when i go out but instead I got pasta. It was probably the best pasta I had in a long time. I just had a pop to drink and the servers were wonderful making sure it was always topped up. My friends and I sat on the porch and enjoyed wonderful dinner and drinks. It was a perfect way to celebrate my friends 20th birthday. I would recommend eating at Lou's to anyone and everyone. I have never had bad service there. It is always exciting and everyone is so friendly! Its a great atmosphere and a great menu with so many choices! I look forward to going back soon! Congrats Managers and staff members on the hard work keeping it an enjoyable place to be!
As a food enthusiast and a woman with a hearty appetite I believe my overall best dining experience has come from Lou's Bar and Grill. Every place is not perfect or ideal and I can say I have had some slow service at Lou's but it will never stop me from coming back. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is superb. If you are looking for a high energy atmosphere and good company I suggest you go to Lou's just being there makes me want to be social and interact with people. The service is usually very prompt and diligent sometimes it can lack a little due to the busy nights. Meals and drinks come fast and even with how busy it can get they still maintain good customer service and look after you.
Going to Lou's I was seated fast and my drink came right away after hearing the specials. I always get the same thing every time because the food just gets better and better the Cajun Grilled Chicken and Prawn Taco Salad is my main dish at Lou's. With fresh lettuce at the bottom the multi-coloured tortilla chips covering the salad and including sour cream and guacamole. The prawns are so savory and spiced to perfection as well as the cut of chicken you receive, it is cooked in the same sauce as the prawns and has the same taste, all the flavours and textures of the food co-exist and work well complimenting each other. It is so much to each but I always make myself finish it because it's that good and packaging it up a to go would just make it soggy and a waste of something so delicious. So I suggest going to Lou's and making something of the night with great people.
Lou's Grill is a great place for a meal out with family, friends, dates and is suitable for all age groups. The restaurant is a well established, cozy, classy and inviting environment. The hostess did a great job at making you feel welcomed. They had an abundant drink selection and a variety of virgin cocktails. I chose to go for the virgin mango margarita which was not a disappointment. For my meal I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The restaurant was pretty busy but the servers did an efficient job at getting your food to you. The sandwich came with a side of fries. I was thinking they'd taste like ordinary fries but they were probably the best fries I've had. The meals were a good size portion and prepared perfectly. The grilled chicken sandwich came on two pieces of a baguette which was a unique way of changing things up. The food was absolutely amazing with comparable prices. My experience was very pleasant and I'd recommend Lou's grill to anyone looking for a casual dinning experience, a more intimate date night, or any special occasion.
