Indian restaurant in downtown Abbotsford
We went to Passage to India for the first time the other night. Started off with some beers, papadaums, and veggie pakoras. The papadaums were good but cold. They taste much better hot. The pakoras were standard fare... pretty good but a very small amount for what you pay.
For dinner I ordered the vegetable hot place which was described as "barbequed vegetables". It was hot indeed, ariving on a steaming plate and sizzling. I had caulfilower, potatoes, mushrooms, onions, and some peas. It was pretty good but definitely not barbequed. Maybe roasted? I enjoyed it but would have preferred a more honest description. The dish was onion heavy too with only about 6 pieces of cauliflower.
The boy had a platter with butter chicken, tandoor chicken (I think?) and something else. It came with one piece of gulab jamun and he ordered the chana masala as well. He said the chicken was good but he shared the same thoughts about the amount of onions. The chana masala was delicious. Gulab jamun was yummy but, once again, cold. Much better hot.
The service is great and they aim to please. I would deifnitely eat here again but I would order something different.
