Greek Islands serves a menu of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine including steaks, seafood, homemade pasta, schnitzels, chicken and ribs and more. This is the 1st location and is located on Langdon Street.
This is my first time here but my partner has been there several times. According to the locals, there are 3 Greek Islands in the area, all owned in the same family and all very popular. Apparently, the restaurant was too busy so they they had to open a second restaurant down the street to meet the demands.
We were there on a Thursday Night around 7pm and the place seems full. We were a large group of 20 people for a surprise bithday party. When we arrived our tables were not ready yet as servers were waiting on a couple of tables. One table was finishing up and the other were asked to move to another table by the manager to help accomodate our large party before the birthday girl arrived. The other table didnt seem to mind as they were only drinking.
One server was taking all our drinks and food orders, and there was another assisting bring out the orders and topping up waters and taking away dishes. Their teamwork seems flawless as someone was close at hand in case something was needed. Servers were very nice, and professional and attentive, good smiles and never seems underpressured. The food came out quickly and all at once, everything seems hot and fresh and abundant. I had the Roast lamb and my partner had the chicken souvlakai. We both couldn't finish our meal as there were a lot of food. I was disappointed that I found the rice, potato and part of the roast lamb salty. The vegetables, greek salad and soup were quite good. Lamb was cook nicely, a tad dry on the outside but what do you expect on anything roasted. The other people in the party seems to enjoyed their meal and a lot also had to take away as there were a lot of food.
Ambience is nice and clean, so is the bathroom, good upbeat music. Prices is typical of any other Greek restauant that I've been to but at least with my meal and several others you do get a soup, salad, and pita with your meals so the value comes in the abundance of food you get.
I would come here again if someone was to ask me to go with them but I would like to try the sister's restaurants just to compare.
