When here just before a concert and had the choice of buffet or menu. Everyone had at least two drinks and dinner. I ordered the mini sliders. Wow real beef taste, juicy and the tomato was the best ever and the pickle was to die for. Friends did the buffet and raved likewise. A little slow with the bill but that was cleared up quickly. Would go back again just to get the sliders.
Booked a reservation for 20 people at this place a couple of weeks ago. We were all going to the Abbotsford Heat game at the arena next door. The game was on a Saturday night.
On Friday, we got a phone call telling us that they can't honor our reservation because the game had sold out that day. Huh?
Most of us were from around Vancouver so we went early at 5 PM to make sure we can snag a table, which luckily we were able to do.
Unfortunately, 6 of our group members got stuck in traffic and didn't get there until 5:30. When they got there, there was a lineup. The group went to the door and told them that we had a table already - that there were, in fact, empty seats at our table. The bouncer refused to let them in because apparently they were at capacity. We mentioned the empty seats, but the bouncer refused to let them in anyway so the 6 of them left and the seats remained unused.
The food was horrible and overpriced. The service was slow and it took more than an hour to get our food.
I understand that they were busy, but given that they were aware that this night would be a busy night, I would have assumed that they would staff at an appropriate level.
Needless to say, I do not recommend going to this place. In fact, I would recommend against it.
Great concept poor execution. What a good idea and location, too bad they could never deliver all the delicious food we were hoping to have. After reading a few other poor online reviews (on another site) we still decided to give this place a chance as it was so convenient (we were going to the hockey game next door). A lot of people had given this place a major thumbs down due to pay parking - so we avoided it in advance and parked elsewhere. We walked over to the restaurant, assuming that it would be busy as it was a game night. We arrived 1.5 hours *before* the game start time. When we arrived, surprisingly, there was already a line up outside. So we waited in line. The bouncer was quite friendly and made the wait not too bad. We said we would sit in either restaurant/pub, whichever had a free seat first. So Finnegan's apparently had an opening and we went in. We were then told - oh, its actually standing room only and you have to stand until a seat becomes available. OK Fine. So we did. We sat at the bar, ordered a couple of drinks and made our way to the table after some time. Once there the server, although very polite, never once offered us refills or new drinks or appies or anything. We had to sit at a dirty table for about 10 minutes before it was cleaned off. From time to time, the server stopped by and was surprised that our food was still not there. I'm not sure why she was surprised - wouldn't she have had to bring it to us?? Everytime she came by she said she would check on it. The last time she came by, she said, "I'm really sorry, they're a bit backed up in the kitchen, it should only be about 2-3 minutes more". So after waiting an ADDITIONAL 10 minutes after that, we just left. We left cash sitting with our drinks and left. Not only was it annoying, disappointing and aggrivating - we were practically late for the game which is literally a 2 second walk across the street. We gave this establishment 1 hour and 20 minutes of our time and all we got was 1 drink each. I will NEVER go back unless they pay me.
Always wanted to try out this place every time I drove by the place,
Finally last Friday me and 2 other friends decided to go check it out,
It was 2 restaurant at the same spot with a off sales store in between,
The old Finnegan's Pub and a new concept restaurent call
Phoenix Lounge.
We got there at 7pm and Finnegan's was quite busy, so we went to Phoenix instead. This is a big restaurant, with a crescent bar, leather boot seat, nice dark woodwork, water fall, also a upper area where there was a function going on at that time.
Our waitress was very informative telling us the special on Phoenix's side and as well as Finnegan's side. Guess you could have Finnegan's menu while sitting at Phoenix's.
We pick 1/2 Lb snow crab leg and calamari as appy and it was very very good, The crab leg is cook just right and the portion of the calamari was big.
I have pork cutlet as my main and my friends share the 16 oz ribeye with more snow crab leg. Both were cook well and the portion were big too.
The price of the food is well worth to check it out, The place is very clean compare to a lot of local join in the area.
Don't forget to check out the Hi- tech washroom, jet speed hand dryer and waterless boys room.
I will definitely go back soon.
