Food great - service lacking.

I'm giving 1 star not because of the food but because of the service. One young Asian lady (20-30 years old) with above the shoulder hair that is streaked brown is the rudest employee I've ever come across. She speaks badly about customers in front of them in another language, doesn't offer certain tables the free rice, soup, and egg roll (she brings them to other tables without being asked), and rolls her eyes at customers behind their backs. I love the food here but after multiple incidents with her I doubt I will be back.

Do Better!!!!

Submitted Tuesday, August 1, 2017 - 9:49pm [Take-out]

A while ago I wrote a complaint to Ming Sing about this location - dirty front glass and no selection.

Then the Clayton location opened and it was busy and the food was very good. I ordered from there at least once a week.

Then Clayton closed and sign said to go the Langley Bypass location. Some of staff were the same. This location was not on my way home so went there less often.

Tonight I went there about 6pm (Tuesday). I was tired. Selection was not good. I chose my 3 entree selection and was surprised that it all went into one container. More surprised when I got home to find the King Pao Chicken on top of the sesame chicken. Hmmm. Sesame chicken was still too chewy to eat. The ginger pork was beyond chewy. I am a senior. Usually I eat half for one meal and the other half the next night. Tonight I ate the chow mein and threw the rest out. Not impressed!!! I like your store. DO BETTER! I will try a different location next time.

Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood Pub3728 Clark Drive, Vancouver
Such a great venue, such horrible service and sub-par food

Submitted Friday, July 28, 2017 - 9:23am [Dine in]

Sports teams and leagues, if you're looking for a post-game watering hole... The Cedar Cottage is not the pub.
Our small league of Thursday night ball players experienced the go-around all season (14 weeks) from Cedar Cottage Pub (CCP).

From promised team specials and food discounts that did not happen. This entire season and experience was just frustrating for the customer. Week after week we had our post game drinks and dinner and week after week we had to remind the server that our ball team (we have uniforms) were to get food discounts as promised by their manager. "Sorry, but your group is too small for a discount" to "Sorry, but your group is too big for a discount tonight". What a joke.
We gave the CCP 1 week's notice that our League Wrap-up would be happening and if they could reserve tables for 50 people and provide us dinner specials. We followed up the day before and was promised they were ready for us.
We arrived Thursday night (our usual night) and 1) they did not have our reservation or our table ready; 2) they did not have menu specials for us; 3) our group was too large for a discount; 4) they were short-staffed and were not able to serve us in a timely manner.

Summary
If you have a fun night planned and are looking for a place to go with friends. Give CCP a pass. This is not your friendly neighbourhood pub.

The Manager
By Bikerjames of north vancouver b c (1 Review)
Submitted Thursday, July 27, 2017 - 10:19pm [Dine in]

Sadly tonight my wife and myself and stopped at this Denny's. We had a very pleasant waitress, who did more than most would. Sadly we had to deal with a very obtuse manager name Ida. As we were from out of town, we were asking our waitress what would be good to see on the Northshore. Being very helpful as to what would fill our days, seems the manager to an offence to the time she was spending with us.

As we noticed the conversation between the two of them, sadly seems that isn't acceptable with this manager. I guess she missed the course on "customer service". We wouldn't return as seems her style is to have you eat and go.

Save your time and money.

This is a great little sushi place tucked away in Murrayville. Super friendly staff, absolutely fresh food. Wonderful wild salmon sashimi. Nothing farmed here, It's very, very good, I haven't tried anything I didn't care for. The gomae is delicious. Their dinner boxes are good with generous portions. Very tasty Yakisoba. The tempura is always perfect and light. You are always served a piece of fruit at the end of your meal. What more could you ask for?

This is a very busy but efficient restaurant. The food is very good, always fresh, the service is quick, but if you're looking for a place where you can linger over a long meal, this isn't the place for you. The tables are almost always in high demand and you might feel a bit rushed out the door once you've finished your meal, however the food is worth it. So if you're looking for a fairly quick, quality Vietnamese meal, stop in. You won't be disappointed, Personal favorites are the Hot & Sour Prawn Soup, Lemongrass Barbecued Chicken, Beef Stew with Bread (Bo Kho), and the Spring Rolls. All very delicious. You can't go wrong.

Be prepare for bad service
By emilyubc of Vancouver (1 Review)
Submitted Tuesday, July 25, 2017 - 2:15pm [Dine in]

This restaurant opens 24 hours , so it's really convenient for people living in Richmond, especially at midnight. The food is OK, and usually the service is just so so.

But last week I met a very rude waitress. When I ordered the food, I found there are two dishes with similar names, one is BBQ duck Congee, and the other one has congee and BBQ duck. I was not clear about the difference in ingredients, so I asked her what's the difference between these two dishes. She suddenly became so mad, and yelled to me: do you want to order or not? Then she threw the menu on the table and left. At that time, I was totally shocked, and young couple next to my table were also shocked. After a while, the lady from next table tried to comfort me: don't be angry, this place has the reputation of bad service.... Obviously those words did not comfort me very well.

Because I am Chinese and she fully understood what I was talking about, I don't think there's any misunderstanding between us, which made her manner was even more unacceptable.

I haven't been to this restaurant yet , I have passed by many times and have wanted to try this restaurant.
I have the take out menu and some of the things I picked out are a favorite.
I haven't tried any of these dishes , I will soon find out if the food is really that good.

Some of the reviews I read about this place aren't bad
to each their own.
I do know this restaurant has been in the Marpole area for a long long time .

There are some of the small chinese restaurants that are quite good .
So many chinese restaurants that I have not tried yet and will try .

Best sushi in Vancouver and best value for your buck

Great sushi, great value for your buck. You can get a Bento Box for around $12 and you leave completely full and with food leftover. It's not just cheap, it's super tasty and they are really good with food presentation. The service is okay, it depends on the night/day and there can sometimes be a language barrier with some of the staff. Other than that, if you're looking for tasty sushi, at a reasonable price and very well presented, this is the place to go to!

Stepho's is one of our go-to for Vancouver restaurants. Whenever we make the trek from Chilliwack to downtown for the weekend, we stop and eat there for at least one dinner. It's delicious Greek food and the plates are HUGE. The restaurant is super cute and it can get pretty busy. Make sure to show up early as they do not take reservations.

I have no complaints with the service , ambiance or value, but Greek food should have more flavour. I think I'll send them a bag of rosemary and suggest they use it for the potatoes at least. Everything was well cooked and nicely presented, but just bland. I'm used to the roasted potatoes at Greek restaurants being one of the highlights. These were just roasted potatoes. The tzatziki was pretty bland also.

Very nice new shawarma place just opened in new west
By iknowwhatsgood of Vancouver (10 Reviews)
Submitted Saturday, July 8, 2017 - 12:20pm [Dine in]

Went here a few nights ago with my son and had a great falafel for about $9. That comes with a drink as well. Easily the largest falafel sandwich I have had in a long while. Was a bit different flavour then your normal shawarma / donair place, and when i asked he said that it was because he was from iraq and thats the iraqi way to cook falafel. I rather enjoyed it, however it was a bit bland and lighter tasting compared to the spicier turkish variety. I recommend hot sauce if you like a spicy peppery taste. The patties were home made and gigantic and fried up FRESH, which is somewhat rare in many so called falafel places that just use a microwave to reheat previously made patties (spew). Another nice touch was that they panini press all the pita wraps so it ends up being nice and hot, with the bread softened to make for a more enjoyable mouth feel. Toppings were pretty standard with cheese being a $0.50 add on that i probably should have got. They also sell things like a humus plate for around $5, tatziki plate, a giant plate of fries for the same price, and some $8 salads that looked delicious. They have sweets as well with the normal baklava type walnut and pistachio options.

All and all, extremely good value, the meat donairs (several meats available and BBQ chicken too) all looked over flowing with meat. Two sizes, a $6 and a $9 size, both come with a drink.

I will be back there, next time I am in new west, as they have some sort of eggplant salad that i am really keen on trying. Restaurant is brand new apparently as per google reviews, and as such extremely nice and clean inside. Large bathroom (just one though), with changing table is a nice touch. There are aprox 15 seats inside the restaurant and a few outside. Was also one of the few restaurants open on a friday night in new west, a city which seems to go to bed around 8pm.

We have been here quite a few times and the only consistent thing is their shi**y service,. The wait staff is amateur and the management incompetent,, I have been upcharged for something one time and not the next for the same thing. Once they tried to charge me $5 more on an APPY for shrimp instead of chicken because I don't eat chicken. No other cactus club has ever done that . Food is ok but hard to swallow with the bad service. And really this location hold no appeal for me as far as the interior goes. There are way nicer places with superior value out there. Unless a figurehead "executive chef" with eyeliner holds special appeal for you

Worst Service I've Ever Experienced
By TSabanski of Pitt Meadows (1 Review)
Submitted Saturday, July 1, 2017 - 10:09pm [Take-out]

Quality of the food is not an issue.

Absolutely furious with the service at this location.

Ordered an Italian BMT Melt (a Panini). Since I'd never seen them make a Panini before, I didn't realize until the sandwich was nearly finished that it absolutely was not what I ordered.

Instead of apologizing and making me a new sandwich, the employee told me that I ordered the Italian BMT Footlong, in an incredibly accusatory tone -- like I was lying to him.

I told him to ring it up anyway, because I hate wasting food. The cost came out to $4 more than the Panini. I apologized and told the employee that I wasn't going to pay $4 extra for a sandwich I didn't want, nor ultimately ordered. I left without my sandwich while he yelled and shouted after me that it was what I had ordered.

To top off the insults, I saw him writing down my license plate number as I left!!

If you want to treat your customers like liars and thieves when they've done absolutely nothing wrong, be my guest! But don't expect our business.

Pig's Feet Is Not Lamb
By Thrashka of Burnaby (3 Reviews)
Submitted Friday, June 30, 2017 - 10:29pm [Dine in]

I LIIIIIIIVE!!! After years of slumber, yet another poor experience has awoken Thrashka to take to the keyboard!

Thrashka brought Mrs. Thrashka and Baby Thrashka to visit Myst Asian Fusion upon hearing of a new, hip restaurant with a myriad of choices.

The decor was contemporary, they had sports on flat screens, the service was good, there were many different menu items, and prices were reasonable.

What's wrong? They have an item labeled "Mini Lamb Hot Pot" that is Chef Recommended, so of course Thrashka tries. Because, who does not love lamb? They're both cute and tasty. The problem is that what is served is instead PIG'S FEET. Yes, they try to pass off swine hooves or pork hock as lamb. When asked about it, the waitresses simply said "it's lamb", not realizing that this customer knows the difference. Thrashka has dined on pork's feet before, and it is fine, but do not insult people by flat-out telling them to their face it's lamb. Muslim brothers and sisters will have a serious issue with this!!

To their credit, they apologized and substituted another dish, without charging for the pork. So, decent customer service on their part. One should have clued-in when seeing the photo, but they also have a disclaimer that states "actual dish may vary from picture."

Heed my words, that unless you enjoy sucking on porky's toes, avoid the "Mini Lamb Hot Pot!!"

Thrashka has spoken!

The soup and some of the lunch dishes are reasonable. Some of the staff at the deli are positively rude. I can't believe an owner would abdicate his customer service to employees with horrible attitude. The staff just don't care! I ordered some baklava. Three signs indicated "regular, rolls and chocolate. I asked for rolls. The grumpy little old woman scowled and said they were not rolls they were something else (incomprehensible). She was brimming with hostility. Why put the signs if the staff don't know what they are called. Another deli server was clearly upset that serving me was interfering with her other duties!! Customer service LAST!!!

This could be a good place but they need to replace the staff.

This is not a Sushi review.
I let others eat raw fish..
I order what ever is not fish, and has a lot of veggies.
Meat and just sprouts is not a meal.
So the waitress suggested the udon noodles.
I had more trees growing between my hairy toes when I was a teenager, than were included incthisc$10 plate of chinese spaghetti.
A mouthful of meat and noodles. I should change walked out when I was being sold on udon.
I will not be walking back in.
